When Jamey Johnson arrived in Nashville, Tn in 2002, he came to make his mark in County Music.
But most people aren't aware that he also has made his mark in supporting various charitable organizations. Jamey was raised with a loyal and generous heart. He helped start the Nikki Mitchell Foundation for pancreas cancer after his good friend and Waylon Jennings Music President passed away from the disease. Today, he continues to advance this organizations' cause, along with others.
He has supported the Marine Corp Toys for Tots, an organization he was involved with while he was an active Marine. Some other organizations Jamey has helped advance are Toby Keiths OK Kids Korral, Fehertys Troops First Foundation, Sisters on the Fly "Sister Corp", East Kentucky Dream Center and many more. All this while supporting those in need. He has replaced musical equipment lost in a house fire to make sure the musician could continue to work, assisted those who needed rehab and helped with lodging when the need arose due to a tragedy.
To continue to support the causes close to his heart, Jamey has started his own Give It Away Foundation. This organization will serve to help him raise funds to further advance charities, close to his heart, in their missions and to award grants to those in need.
